April P. "Pat" Davis, 88 years, of Monroe, MI, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 7:30 AM at The Lutheran Home in Monroe.
Born March 29, 1925 in Washburn, TN, Pat was the daughter of the late James N. and Addie E. (Shepherd) Hopson. Pat's family moved to Monroe when she was a child. Pat attended elementary school in Monroe and was a 1943 graduate of Monroe High School.
On April 2, 1960 Pat married her beloved husband John A. Davis in Toledo, OH. Sadly, he preceded her in death on February 2, 1975.
Along with being a homemaker, Pat owned and operated the Neighborhood Inn in Monroe for 25 years until her retirement in 1983.
Pat was a member of the VFW Post 1138 Ladies Auxiliary. Pat was an avid reader and enjoyed Walleye and Perch fishing with her friends on Lake Erie.
Most of all Pat loved her family.
Pat is survived by a son: James L. (Patricia) Arnold of Cape Coral, FL, a daughter: Pamela B. (Keith) Soderberg of Parkville, MD, eight cherished grandchildren: W. Ryan Arnold, Jamie Lynn Dumas, Amy J. Nolff, Scott Knabusch, Michael J. Arnold, Cameron Arnold, Melanie A. Gibson, and Jesse Gibson and five treasured great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Pat was preceded in death by a daughter: Brenda K. Redmond, two sons: William J. Arnold and Claude E. Gibson, and three brothers: Odra Collins, Jack Hopson, and James Earl Hopson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 3-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., in Monroe where funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Friday, April 5, 2013 at 1:00 PM. The Rev. Roy Southerland, pastor of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
