Obituary

Anita L. Acerbi was born on September 21, 1937 in Waynesburg, Ohio to Opelio and Elvera (Navarra) Acerbi.
Anita was a majorette in the band at Sandy Valley High School when she met her lifelong love of 60 years, Max M. Scott. A faith filled legacy began as they were blessed with three children, eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren with one on-the way.
Together they came to Monroe in 1961 where Anita dedicated her life to the nurturing of her family. She will be remembered for her Saturday shopping trips to J.C. Penny, homemade meals, baking on special occasions and her cheering on of the Detroit Tigers, Lions and Pistons.
A member of Stewart Road Church of God since 1977, Anita began an excellence in faith based education at Pathway Childcare Center that has spanned more than thirty five years. She demonstrated her love of the Lord through her continued dedication to the educational advancement of two generations of children by instruction and example of Proverbs 22:6 "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn for it." NIV.
An everlasting legacy of faith, family and tradition will be continued through her family as stated in Joshua 24:15". But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve…But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord." NIV
Anita is survived by her loving husband of 60 years Max M. Scott; a brother Richard (Susan) Acerbi of Massillon, Ohio, three children; M. Jeffrey (Mary) Scott of Spring Hill, FL, Sheryl (Thomas)Thacker of Ida, MI and Audrey (Keith) Gilbert of Monroe, MI; eight grandchildren; Tony Scott, Jason (Angie) Scott, Stacy (Matthew) Sitarski, Jayme Thacker, Tara (Robert) McBride, Scott Thacker, Ryan (Chandi) Gilbert and Jodi (Jordan) Lehr; ten great grandchildren; Gage Daniels, Nathan Adams, Maxwell, Makenna and Mason McBride, Sawyer and Fiona Scott, Luke and Oliver Sitarski and Brody Lehr.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister: Gloria J. Henning.
