Angelo M. Terrasi

Angelo M. Terrasi, 79 years, of Monroe, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 29, 2014 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Born July 13, 1935 in Monroe, Angelo was the son of the late Bennie and Mary (Vitale) Terrasi. Angelo attended St. Joseph Elementary School and was a graduate of Monroe Catholic Central High School. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monroe. On July 12, 1958 Angelo married his beloved wife, the former Jacqueline A. Koprowski at St. John’s Church in Toledo, Ohio. Angelo worked as a die setter for Ford Motor Company’s Woodhaven Stamping Plant from which he retired in 1996. After retirement he worked part time for Gordon Food Service in Monroe. Angelo was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Monroe. He enjoyed coaching girls basketball at St. Mary’s and for several years coached a women’s softball team. He also enjoyed watching all types of sports. Most of all Angelo enjoyed time spent with family; he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and teaching them how to bake bread. Angelo is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Jackie, three loving children: Karen A. (Edward) Meyer of Monroe, Gloria J. (M. David) Graves of Monroe and David (Victor) Terrasi of Bay City, MI, ten cherished grandchildren: Jessica Graves (Rick Crutchfield) Michael D. Graves, II, Jaclyn Graves, Mitchell (Marisa) Graves, Jenna Graves, Benjamin Meyer, Nicholas Meyer, Jordan Gardner Terrasi, Sydney Gardner Terrasi and Adrianna Gardner Terrasi, and four great grandchildren: Luke and Layne Thomerson, Lola Martell and Angelo Graves. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Visitation will be held today, Sunday, August 31, 2014 from 2-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI 48161. On Monday, September 1, 2014 he will lie in state at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 127 N. Monroe Street, Monroe, MI 48162, from 10:30 AM until Mass of the Resurrection celebrating his life at 11:00 AM. Fr. Marc Gawronski will be the celebrant. Cremation will follow. Memorial contributions are suggested to University of Michigan Hospital or Mercy Memorial Hospice of Monroe.
