Angela Rose (Hacker) Stokes

Angela Rose (Hacker) Stokes, a youthful 46, lovingly knowns as Angie, of Jacksonville, NC, formally of Monroe, MI, peacefully passed away Thursday Jan. 28, 2021 surrounded by love and family and giving the gift of life as an organ donor. She is the beloved first daughter of Rick and Kim (Schmidt) Hacker. Born on a beautiful warm day of August 11, 1974 in Monroe, MI, and was married on a sunny day to her beloved Anthony M Stokes in Las Vegas, NV, on December 31, 2002. As a 1992 graduate of Monroe High, she went on to several successful careers, going from entry level and rocketing to management, such as Hot & Now, Lane Bryant and Monroe Cablevision. In 1996, she went on to join Comcast and once again rocketed to manager of their main call center in Southfield, MI, until a successful transfer in 2008 to Atlanta, Georgia. In 2011, her family moved back home to Michigan to work for Blue Cross. Missing her daughter and grandson, in 2015, she moved to Jacksonville, NC, to be close to them. There, she joined the Concentrix company working her way, once more, to manager. Angela had a smile that would light up a room with her warmth and sunshine, having one of those sparkling and sweet personalities and a memorable laugh. Knowing her, you could see she was just full of life and happiness. Angela was looking forward to moving back to Michigan in March to be close with her mom, sister, and grandmother. Angela is survived by her beloved husband, Anthony Stokes; her daughter, Arionna (Harmon) Lee of Jacksonville, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Hayden and Kai Lee of Jacksonville, North Carolina; mother, Kim Hacker of Monroe; sister, Jessica Hacker of Dearborn Heights, Michigan; grandmother, Bonnie Zula Schmidt of LaSalle; and many aunts and cousins. She is preceded in death by her father, Rick Hacker; grandparents: Herb Schmidt and Dell and Phyllis Hacker. Services will be held in the springtime when the sun is shining, and the sweet scent of blooms are ripe in the air. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for assistance (donations) with the expenses of the memorial service and to assist her surviving family members in North Carolina to travel back home to Michigan.
