Andrew A. Grab, age 65, of Monroe, MI passed away Sunday, August 17, 2008 aboard his boat the "Grabmeister" at Put-In-Bay. Andy was born May 10, 1943 in Detroit, MI the son of the late Adam and Helen (Bajor) Grab. Andy was a 1961 graduate of New Boston Huron High School. Andy went on to attend Eastern Michigan University where he received his bachelor's degree in Instrumental Music and his master's degree in science. On June 12, 1971 in Wyandotte he married his beloved wife the former Heidi S. Simon. Andy was employed as a teacher for the Gibraltar School District for 29 years retiring in 1994. He was also a self employed farmer. Andy was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church and the Monroe Boat Club. His hobbies included boating, music, and gardening of all types. At one time Andy played the trombone in the National Veterans Band. Andy was a man who enjoyed life and lived his life to the fullest. Andy is survived by his beloved wife Heidi, his loving son Joshua A. Grab of Monroe, his brother Gerald (Nancy) Grab of Phoenix, AZ, and his sisters Helen (Harold) Moore of Corona, CA. and Evelyn (Kenneth) Kosowski of Gross Ile, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 1-9 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd. Monroe, MI. On Friday, August 22, 2008 he will lie in state at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church from 10:00 AM until funeral services celebrating his life at 11:00 AM. Memorial contributions may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.
