Andrew D. "Dru" McLeod, 31 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe, MI, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 in his home.
Born January 28, 1983 in Monroe, Andrew was the son of Timothy K. and Loretta A. (Gomez) McLeod. Andrew attended Monroe Public Schools and was a 2001 graduate of Monroe High School. Andrew also attended Monroe County Community College.
Andrew had been employed as a landscaper for M&J Contracting in Monroe and attended Redeemer Fellowship Church, also in Monroe.
Andrew enjoyed sport cars. More than anything, Andrew loved his two sons, together, the three of them spent countless hours building forts in the woods and had many paint ball fights. Andrew will be remembered as a very loving father and a kind and caring person.
Andrew is survived by his cherished sons: Armani K. and Andin M. McLeod, his loving parents: Loretta A. and Dennis Asmar whom he made his home with, his caring sister: Adrienne R. (Derick) Aaron of Monroe and his grandparents: Barb Geddes of Newport, MI and Najiba Asmar of Farmington Hills, MI. Sadly, Andrew was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 17, 2014 in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI 48161, from 1:00 PM until funeral services celebrating his life at 6:00 PM. The Rev. Roy Southerland, pastor of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church, will officiate. Cremation will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Monroe.
Memorials contributions are suggested to Andrew's family to establish a college fund for his two boys.
