Scott L. Cornoyer, age 63 of Monroe, passed away Friday evening, April 29, 2022 in his home. His passing was due to health complications since being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Born in Monroe on October 3, 1958, Scott was the son of Robert and Margie (Hudkins) Cornoyer. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1976 and had been employed by Bay Corrugated in Monroe and R.L. Coolsaet Construction in Romulus. He courageously battled M.S. for 33 years, often agreeing to new procedures and experimental medicine in hopes of a cure for himself or others. Scott was a sports fan and outdoorsman. He enjoyed deer hunting and was an avid bow hunter. He also liked fishing, playing Monopoly and Fantasy Football. As a sports fan, Scott was a follower of the Detroit Tigers and Lions. Scott is survived by two siblings, Mark (Sue) Cornoyer of The Villages, FL and Sheri Stiffler of Monroe. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Steven. Bacarella Funeral Home is assisting the family with cremation arrangements in accordance with Scott’s wishes. All are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, May 21st at First Presbyterian Church in Monroe at 11 a.m. For anyone interested in making a donation in memory of Scott, the family suggests supporting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society to further research in hopes of a cure or improved treatment options.
