Pamela Gail Stumpmier

July 25, 1952 - May 27, 2021

Pamela Gail Stumpmier, 68 years, of South Rockwood, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital. Born July 25, 1952 in Monroe, Michigan, Gail was the daughter of the late Wilford C. and Mary Louise (Williams) Shock. Gail was a 1970 graduate of Jefferson High School where she played the clarinet in the marching band. She went on to attend Monroe County Community College. On May 1, 1971, Gail married her beloved husband, William F. Stumpmier at Trinity Lutheran Church in Monroe. Gail was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, South Rockwood Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and while her kids were in school, the PTO for Ritter Elementary School. Gail enjoyed watching sports, especially football and college basketball. Gail was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed cooking and caring for her family. She especially loved her grandchildren, where she often could be found driving them around in her golf cart. Gail is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Bill, four loving sons: Ronald W. (Shelly) Stumpmier of Petersburg, Chad J. (Kimberly) Stumpmier of Flat Rock, Gregory P. (Natasha) Stumpmier of South Rockwood, and Christian W. (Erin) Stumpmier of Erie, 11 cherished grandchildren: Ashley, Rachel, Nate, Mason, Sean, Nathan, Sloane, Charles, Elizabeth, John, and Samuel, one treasured great grandson, Theo, and her sister and best friend, Colleen K. (Brian) Martin of Monroe. In addition to her parents, Gail was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Shock. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-8 pm at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, Michigan, 48161. On Thursday, June 3, 2021, she will lie in state at Trinity Lutheran Church in Monroe beginning at 10:00 am with funeral services celebrating her life at 11:00 am. The Rev. Daniel Potts will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church or Monroe Chapter 142 Vietnam Veterans of America.
