Leroy K. Harwood, age 60 of Monroe, passed away at 7:15 a.m. Friday, April 16, 2021 in his home. Born November 10, 1960 in Monroe, Leroy was the son of Courtland and Mildred (Phennig) Harwood. He graduated from Woodhaven High School in 1979 and married Pamela J. Ford on August 18th in Cleveland, Virginia. Together, they raised two daughters. He later remarried Susan L. Lamhart on January 5, 2018 in Monroe. Leroy was currently employed as a crane operator with R & M Recycling in Toledo for the past 25 years. More than a job, recycling and scrapping was just as much a hobby. A true scrapper, he enjoyed cruising the tri-state area, searching for items of interest to buy and sell. He also enjoyed taking his grandkids to zoos and amusement parks. Leroy is survived by his wife Susan; his two daughters, Jody Lake of Woodhaven and Jessica (Kenneth) Finley of Newport; a sister, Christine (Terry) Braden of Monroe; five beloved grandchildren, Cole Lake, Jenna Lake, Brooklyn Lake, Connor Patton, and Ava Finley; and two spoiled furbabies, his pet dachshunds, Denny and Penny. Leroy was preceded in death by his father, Courtland Harwood; mother, Mildred Hughes; brother, Roger Harwood, and a sister, Linda McCarthy. Family and friends may visit from 11 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Apr. 20th at Bacarella Funeral Home. Livestream viewing will be available by going to the funeral home website.
