Jacqueline Joy McGhee

August 12, 1962 - January 26, 2022

Jacqueline Joy “Jackie” McGhee, 59 years, of Monroe, Michigan went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital. Born August 12, 1962 in Monroe, Jackie was the daughter of William C. Blunt and Easter B. Russell. She was raised by her stepfather, the late Earl Vining. Jackie was a 1980 graduate of Monroe High School, where she ran track, and attended Monroe County Community College. Jackie’s first marriage was to Dale V. Kyser, Jr., she then married Kelvin McGhee. Jackie worked as an Enforcement Specialist in the Special Prosecutors Office in Monroe County for over 25 years. She then went to work as a Manager at Walmart in Monroe from which she retired in 2015. Jackie attended the Worship center in Toledo and was a member of MCOP and the Opportunity Center at ALCC. She also sat on the City of Monroe Zoning and Planning Commission and worked at the University of Michigan Stadium for football games. Jackie enjoyed skating, bowling, and playing softball. Jackie had a wonderful voice and sang in several choirs and was well known for singing the National Anthem at various events. Most of all Jackie loved time spent with family. Jackie is survived by three loving children: Kelsey J. Kyser of Chicago, Dale V. Kyser, III of Dublin, CA, and Taryn Jade Kyser of Lawrenceville, GA, a cherished grandson, Kartier Vincent, her beloved mother Easter B. Vining of Monroe, and 12 siblings: Ronald Johnson, Lisa Johnson, Karen Martin, Kimberley Vining, Kevin (Bonnie) Vining, Keith Vining, Brian Vining, Robert (Laura) Vining, Myrna Stockard, Marva (Jeff) Woods, Gary Blunt, and Spencer (Rebecca) Blunt. In addition to her father and stepfather, Jackie was preceded in death by three brothers: Eric Vining, Earl “Wolf” Vining, Jr., and Rev. William A. Blunt. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5-8 pm at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI, 48161. On Saturday, February 5, 2022 she will lie in state at Monroe Full Gospel Church from 10:00 am where funeral services celebrating her life will begin at 11:00 am. The Rev. Allen Overton will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
