Hazel B. Williamson

August 31, 1933 - April 25, 2022

Hazel B. Williamson, age 88, of LaSalle, passed away, Monday, April 25, 2022 in her home surrounded by her family. Hazel was born August 31, 1933 in Monroe, she was the daughter of Clarence and Lucy (Lanier) Miller. She married Michael L. Williamson October 8, 1955; sadly he preceded her in death September 6, 2021. She was a 1954 graduate of Monroe High School; one of her favorite high school stories she loved to tell was the time a coach got her out of class so that she could show the boys how to throw a shotput. She had also attended Calvary United Methodist Church. Hazel was a manager at K Mart for many years before her retirement in 1995. She enjoyed collecting bells (she had more then 250), crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. In fact, when she came home from the hospital the last time, just a few days before she passed, she was able to put the last piece in her final puzzle. She is survived by her four children, Karen (Gary) Braden of Monroe, Michael David (Dawn) Williamson of Ypsilanti, Sharon Griffin of Erie and Kenneth (Tami) Williamson of Madison, OH; a sister, Phyllis Mulendore of Monroe; ten grandchildren, Beth, Joshua, Amanda, Michael, Jesse, Jaime, Brandon, Logan, Breein and Kristopher and several great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings. In accordance with Hazel’s wishes all services will be private with burial at LaSalle Township Cemetery. The family would like to thank special neighbors Greg and Cindy Hickman and Tom and Tammy Trombley for their care and support throughout the years. The family suggest memorial contributions to Monroe Military Families.
