David G. Raymer

March 17, 1938 - January 18, 2021

David Glen Raymer, age 82 of Monroe, son of the late Albert L. and Geneva H. (Inman) Raymer, passed away peacefully at 9:22 p.m. Monday, January 18, 2021 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital. David was born in Romulus, Michigan on March 17, 1938 and was one of 9 brothers and 2 sisters. Dave was married to Polly E. Estes on October 5, 1957 and have 2 sons, Toney Glen Raymer of Luna Pier and David Mathew Raymer of Monroe. David worked as a mechanic for 27 years at Whitehead & Kales in River Rouge. David was also self-employed, owning an excavating service with his brothers in the 1960s and Dave’s Used Cars and Parts until he retired. He enjoyed work and working on his cars. Dave also became a Reverend and ministered to many friends and family. He attended Carleton Church of God and was a member of United Steelworkers. In addition to his wife of 63 years and his two sons, David is also survived by three brothers, Roy (Helen) Raymer of Monroe, Samuel Raymer of Monroe, and Kerry Raymer of Kalamazoo, Michigan; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, David Anthony Raymer, and two infant sisters. Family and friends may visit from 11:30 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Monday at Bacarella Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Wellhousen, pastor of Carleton Church of God will officiate followed by burial at Monroe Township Cemetery.
