Brenda "Sue" Lee Green

April 30, 1957 - April 17, 2022

Brenda “Sue” L. Green of LaSalle passed away Sunday, April 17, 2022, at Brookdale Assisted Living Facility due to a seven-year battle with Alzheimer’s. Born in Baltimore, Maryland on April 30, 1957, Sue was the daughter of Francis and Mary (Kingsborough) Figiel. She was a 1975 graduate of Glen Burnie High School in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Sue met the love of her life, Mark Green, while still in high school. They were married on August 14, 1976 and spent over 45 wonderful years together. Sue held various jobs throughout her lifetime with her last position being at Fermi II in the Maintenance Procedures Group. She held that role for 17 years until her retirement in 2017. In addition to her career, she volunteered her time and numerous talents to the Monroe County 4-H Program. She was a club leader, assistant superintendent in the produce building, and served various leadership roles including President and Treasurer of 4-H Council. She made many lifelong friendships and absolutely loved the excitement of fair week. Sue was a creative jack of all trades - scrapbooking, photography, cooking, sewing, painting, and baking were only a few of her passions. Her famous crumb topped apple pie would bring in high bids at 4-H fundraisers. Above all, Sue adored her family and would do anything for them. She loved to spoil her five grandchildren every chance she could get. She’ll be remembered for making extravagant birthday cakes, assisting with art projects, and cheering them on at sporting events. Sue is survived by her husband, Mark of LaSalle, her daughters, Melissa (Jason) Ausmus of Monroe and Kristle (Matt) Haberichter of Cedar, Michigan, and five grandchildren: Alex Ausmus, Mary Ausmus, Natalie Ausmus, Logan Ausmus, and Avery Haberichter. She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather William Stunz, and a brother, James Figiel. A celebration of her life will be held Friday, May 6th from 4:00 to 8:00 at Bacarella Funeral Home at 1201 S. Telegraph Road, Monroe Michigan 48161. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Monroe County 4-H Program are suggested. Sue’s family would like to thank the caring and loving staff at Brookdale Memory Care in Monroe and Elara Caring in Adrian for their daily devotion to her care over the past two and a half years.
