Obituary

Betty R. Cusumano, 84 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe, Michigan went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Wellspring Lutheran Services in Monroe.
Born December 28, 1931 in Monroe, Betty was the daughter of the late Ray and Clercie (Turner) Williamson. She attended Monroe Public Schools and Monroe High School.
On September 14, 1963 Betty married her beloved husband, Sam J. Cusumano, Sr, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monroe. Sadly, Sam preceded her in death on October 3, 2009 after 46 years of marriage.
Betty was employed by both Michigan and Ohio Bell before her children were born. Once the boys were born Betty became a stay at home mom and along with her husband owned Custer Beer Company in Monroe.
Betty was a member of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Monroe. Betty loved Christmas time, she loved to bake, decorate her home and cook wonderful gourmet meals for her family. Betty enjoyed traveling to both Florida and the Carolina's where she spent many hours enjoying the sun and the beach. She also enjoyed boating, and taking trips on the boat to fun destinations. Most of all Betty loved time spent with family.
Betty is survived by two loving children: Joseph A. (Sheila) Cusumano of Newport, MI and Sam J. Cusumano, Jr. of Monroe, two cherished grandchildren: Sam and Joseph Cusumano and three siblings: Michael "Mickey" (Hazel) Williamson, John Williamson and Linda (James) Call all of Monroe. In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by a brother: William Williamson, a sister: Maryann Danish and a half brother: Robert Williamson.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, from 1-7 PM at the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI 48161 where a Rosary Service will be held at 4:00 PM. On Monday, December 19, 2016 prayers will be held at 9:15 AM at the funeral home, a procession will follow to St. John The Baptist Catholic Church for Mass of the resurrection celebrating Betty's life at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
