Warren C. Sanderlin Jr.

Warren C. Sanderlin, Jr. 82 years of LaSalle, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 3, 2017 at Promedica Monroe Regional Hospital in Monroe. Warren also known as Sandy or Junior was born November 28, 1934 in Ward, Arkansas to Warren and Fellie Sanderlin. The family moved to Michigan in his early years. He graduated from Slocum-Truax High School in Trenton, Michigan in 1953. He began working at Monsanto Chemical Plant in Trenton, joined the Air National Guard and was stationed in Michigan and then Colorado. In Denver, he worked at Martin-Marietta (Lockhee) Missile Company. He married Marilyn Bacher in Greeley, Colorado on September 2, 1960. The family relocated to Michigan in 1965 establishing their long term residence in LaSalle. He worked for Edw. C. Levy Co. in Trenton, Monroe Housing Commission and eventually worked over 20 years for Monroe Public Schools retiring in 1997 as a Custodial Foreman. Warren loved people and was always the life of the party, he was known for his infectious humor, generosity, kindness, and humility. He was a maintenance person at heart. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, and fishing. Warren was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church and sang in the choir for many years. He was also a member and past President of Floral City Kiwanis. Warren is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Marilyn, five loving children: Michael of Toledo, OH, Robyn (James) Counts of Hackelburg, AL, Wendy (Eric) Bomia) of LaSalle, Janet Sanderlin of Mesa, AZ, and Ramona (Edward) Talley of Temperance, five cherished grandchildren: Jonathon, Christopher, Richard, Meagan, and Gunner, two treasured great grandchildren: Nora and Emma, a sister: Hazel Delisle of Carleton, a brother Fred (Joan) Sanderlin of Muskegon and many nieces and nephews. In keeping with Warren’s wishes, cremation has been held. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Christ Lutheran Church, 225 E. Elm Ave., Monroe, MI, 48162, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM followed by an 11:00 AM service. The Rev. David Hively, pastor of the church, will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church. The Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI, 48161, is assisting Warren’s family with funeral arrangements.
