Troy Parriet

Troy M. Parriet, 68 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe, MI passed away on Friday, January 29, 2010 in his home with his beloved wife at his side. Troy had been in declining health for the past 3 years and under the wonderful care of Mercy Memorial Hospice. Troy was born January 23, 1942 in Monroe, MI the son of the late Calvin Brice and Lovetta Z. (Proffitt) Parriet. Troy attended Monroe High School. After high school Troy proudly served his country as a specialist in the US Army from July 13, 1962 until he was honorably discharged on July 13, 1965, most of his enlistment Troy was stationed in Germany. On August 14, 1965 Troy married his beloved wife, the former Marian Mae George in Monroe. That same year Troy began working for Ford Motor Company’s Woodhaven Stamping Plant where he worked until his retirement in 1995. Troy was a member of the First Wesleyan Church in Monroe and the East Side Men’s Club. Troy enjoyed playing cards and trips to the casino. Troy is survived by his beloved wife Marian, 3 loving children; Troy Michael (Linda) Parriet of Monroe, Thomas Matthew Parriet of Jackson, MI and Teresa Marie Parriet of Monroe, a cherished grandson Michael Joseph Parriet, 2 brothers Charles (Donna) Parriet of Houghton Lake, MI and Robert E. Lee (Maryann) Parriet of Monroe, 4 sisters; Kathy Pribyl of Arizona, JoAnne (Ron) Osborne of Bean Station, TN, Lottie Sue Kinney and Barb (Bill) Hood both of LaSalle, MI. In addition to his parents, Troy was preceded in death by his brother Curtis, and 3 sisters Charlotte Knight, Elsie Lambert and Alice Winters. Visitation will be held on Monday from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., in Monroe, where funeral services celebrating Troy’s life will be held on Tuesday February 2, 2010 at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Eugene White pastor of Bible Fellowship Church and Rev. Paul C. Roemer pastor of the First Wesleyan Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions are suggested to Mercy Memorial Hospice of Monroe or the First Wesleyan Church.
