Patsy Marie Dixon, age 81 of Monroe, went home to be with the Lord at 9:33 p.m. Monday, December 14, 2020, at Promedica Monroe Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
Born March 31, 1939 in Monroe, she was the daughter of the late Herbert R. and Lillie A. (Patton) Greer. Patsy attended Monroe High School and worked for more than ten years at Stewart Road Church of God's Pathway Daycare as a Care Giver and Cook, retiring in 1994. She married the love of her life, Donald "Dean" Dixon, and from this union came three wonderful children: Cheryl, Connie, and Eva.
She was a lifelong member of Stewart Road Church of God and enjoyed spending time with the ladies of the Red Hat Society at Fountainview of Monroe. Patsy loved playing games, especially Skip-bo and Rummikub. She also enjoyed working puzzles of any kind. Most of all, Patsy cherished time spent with her family. She will forever be remembered for her kind and loving disposition and for sharing the love of Jesus with everyone.
To cherish her memory, Patsy leaves three children, Cheryl (Bob) Johnson, Connie (Doug) Dale, and Eva (Jerry) Gorman, all of Monroe; three siblings: Thelma Bryant of Monroe, Shirley Poore of Monroe, and Charles (Georgia) Greer of South Carolina; eight grandchildren: Jamey (Emily) Buckner, Cole Johnson, Joey Dale, Jeff (Kim) Dale, Joshua Dale, Caleb Dale, Shane Gerber, and Lindsay Gerber; and three great-grandchildren: Brinley Buckner and Robert and Ronan Dale.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Lois Greer.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, December 17, 2020, at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Road, Monroe, MI 48161. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, visitation will be limited to twenty-five persons at a time and those attending are asked to wear face coverings and maintain social distancing guidelines. She will lie in state at Stewart Road Church of God on Friday, December 18, 2020, at 10 a.m. where services will be held at 11 a.m. Rev. Keith Hawes and Rev. J.D. Walker will officiate. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery.
