Norman Lee Stoner, Jr., 73 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe, Michigan went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 10, 2020 in his home.
Born July 11, 1947 in Monroe, Norman was the son of the late Norman L. and Rosetta (Reed) Stoner, Sr. He attended Monroe Public Schools and was a 1965 graduate of Monroe High School.
On July 9, 1975, Norman married his beloved wife, the former Joann M. Turner in Toledo, OH.
Norman worked as a crane operator for North Star and Gerdau Steel in Monroe for 28 ½ years from which he retired in 2009. Prior to working at the steel plant, he worked for Ford Motor Company and France Stone Quarry. He was a former member of the U.A.W.
Norman was a true "Jack of all trades", he could repair anything. He enjoyed helping others, working around the house, spoiling kids and the family dogs, working on automobiles and watching his grandchildren play softball. Most of all, Norman enjoyed time spent with family.
Norman is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Joann, a loving daughter; Angela J. Stoner of Monroe, two step sons; Randy (Dana) Bussell of Newport, and Jonathan Bussell of Monroe, four cherished grandchildren; Ryan (Kari) Bussell, Brandon Bussell, Joshua (Brittany) Bussell, and Rachel (Matthew) Vonotten, six step grandchildren; Raymond Kruse, Alesha (Joe) Brown, Laura Lawson, Brianna (Mark) Silcox, Evana Daily, and Katreana Daily, 25 treasured step great grandchildren, and four siblings; Merlin (Irene) Stoner, Sr., of Newport, David (Stephanie) Stoner, Judy (Bobby) Wilson, and Chris (Danny) Laura, all of Monroe
In addition to his parents, Norman was preceded in death by his mother and father in law; Austin and Mary Turner.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 1-7 pm in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, Michigan, 48161, where funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020 at 11:00 am. The Rev. BJ McDaniel, pastor of One Way Christian Fellowship Church, will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
