Mildred Miller

Mildred Miller, 87 years, of Temperance, MI went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 29, 2011 under the tender care of Aspen Grove Assisted Living in Lambertville, MI and Erie West Hospice. Born December 23, 1923 in Fork Ridge, TN, Mildred was the daughter of the late Kelly and Myrtle (Hubbard) Parrott. On April 24, 1945 in Middlesboro, KY Mildred married her beloved husband James Clyde Miller. They moved to Monroe in 1954. In 1972 they moved to Tennessee where Mildred worked as the sewing room supervisor for La-Z-Boy in Dayton, TN. Mildred retired from La-Z-Boy in 1985 after 22 years of service. They moved to Temperance in 2008. Mildred was a member of Johnson’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Spring City, TN. She enjoyed crafts, quilting, and especially painting. Mildred took painting classes and would paint her husband’s wood working designs. Above all Mildred loved her family. She is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years James Clyde, her loving son; Michael A. (Vicki) Miller Sr. of Temperance, MI, 2 cherished grandchildren; Amy Suzanne (Rod) Fry of Onsted, MI and Michael A. Miller Jr. of Temperance, MI, 4 treasured great grandchildren; Michael J. and Aaron T. Miller of Temperance, Abagail S. and Ashlin S. Aiken of Onsted, MI, a brother; Harry (Norita) Parrott of LaFollette, TN and a sister; Geneva Powers of Ocala, FL. In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 4 brothers. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., in Monroe, where funeral services celebrating Mildred’s life will be held on Monday, May 2, 2011 at 10:00 AM. Her pastor, the Rev. John Pair of Johnson’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
