MaryAnn E. Diehl

MaryAnn E. Diehl, 60 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe, Michigan went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 19, 2017 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Born July 23, 1956 in Monroe, MaryAnn was the daughter of Richard and Pamela (Basile) Ciacelli, Sr. MaryAnn attended Monroe Public Schools and was a 1974 graduate of Monroe High School. On November 2, 1984 MaryAnn married her beloved husband Gary A. Diehl at St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church in Monroe. MaryAnn worked as gemologist at Milkins Jewelers in Monroe for 15 years and at Brown Automotive in Toledo for 2 years in the F & I department. Once their son Garrison was born her working outside the home ceased and she became a stay at home mom and was an incredible homemaker for her son and husband. While Garrison was at St. Michael’s Elementary School MaryAnn was a room mom and volunteered in the lunch room and made not only homemade lunches for Garrison but for his friends as well. When Garrison went to SMCC, MaryAnn was a proud football mom for #25. MaryAnn was a wonderful, kind and caring person who loved being a mom not only to her son but to all his friends. MaryAnn is survived by her beloved husband of 32 years, Gary, her loving son: Garrison A.J. Diehl of Kalamazoo, MI, her mother Pamela of Monroe, and three siblings: Paula Ciacelli of Knoxville, TN, DeAnne Ciacelli of Monroe and Kerry Ann (Robert) Wentz of Monroe. A sister in law, Dorothy Ciacelli; a goddaughter, Katie (Richard) Spencer; nieces and nephews Teresa Ciacelli, Gina (Tim) Roberts, Breanna Ciacelli, Carson and Brice Jones, Michael and Thomas Wentz and honorary sons: Salvatore Taormina and Tyler Werner. Sadly, she was preceded in death by her father and brother: Richard “T Bone” Ciacelli, Jr. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 3-8 PM and Friday from 3-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI, 48161, where a scripture service will be held on Friday at 6:00 PM. On Saturday, February 25, 2017 she will lie in state at St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church from 10:00 AM until Mass of the Resurrection celebrating her life at 11:00 AM. Fr. Louis Lapeyre will be the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Michael’s Church or to SMCC High School.
