Marion E. Cuykendall

Marion E. Cuykendall, 71 years, of LaSalle, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 22, 2017 in her home. Born June 14, 1946 in Knoxville, TN, Marion was the daughter of the late John Herman and Dolace Gertrude (Hutchinson) Robbins. Marion was a 1964 graduate of Fountain City High School in Tennessee. On October 31, 1964 Marion married her beloved husband, Leroy F. Cuykendall, Jr. in Monroe. Sadly, he preceded her in death on May 2, 1997 after 32 years of marriage. Marion was employed as a bus driver for Monroe County I.S.D. for over 30 years. She retired in June of 2006. Marion was a member of Victory Christian Church and enjoyed visiting different churches in the area. She was a member of the Monroe County Women's Closed Pool League, where she served as treasurer and ABATE of Michigan. Marion enjoyed shooting pool, bowling, traveling, reading her bible, and doing things for others, especially cooking and entertaining for family and friends, whom all called her mom. Most of all Marion enjoyed time spent with family, where her great grandchildren called her GG. Marion is survived by five loving children: Leroy F. Cuykendall, III of Monroe, Larry F. Cuykendall of LaSalle, Marion E. "Sissy" Cuykendall of LaSalle, Lee F. Cuykendall of Monroe, and Lance F. (Connie) Cuykendall of Monroe, nine cherished grandchildren: Leroy "Shaggy", IV, Leann, Lucas, Lindsey, Nickolas, Caitlyn, Marcus, Zackary, and Emilee, six tresured great grandchildren: Lillian, Leroy, V, Nathan, Andrew, Joshua, and Gavin, and three brothers: George (Nancy), Jay (Donna), and Walter Robbins all of Knoxville, TN., In addition to her husband and parents, Marion was preceded in death by two sisters: Cecile and Mildred, two brothers: Dale and Sammy and a daughter in law, Lisa. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-6 PM and Monday from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI, 48161 where funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Jerry Stewart, pastor of Victory Christian Fellowship Church, will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Foundation for Children with Microcephaly.
