Marguerite White

Marguerite Lucy White, 91 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe, MI went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Fountain View of Monroe under the tender care of Heartland Hospice. Born in 1920 on Christmas Eve, Marguerite was the daughter of the late Ferris and Edna (Westgate) Miller. Marguerite attended school in Monroe and was a graduate of Monroe High School. On February 11, 1939 Marguerite married her beloved husband, Jack C. White in Napoleon, OH. Sadly, Jack preceded her in death on June 22, 1995 after 56 years of marriage. During World War II Marguerite worked at Woodall Industries to help with the war effort. Marguerite was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family. Marguerite was a charter and very active member of Calvary United Methodist Church. She taught Sunday School and served on many committees over the years. Jack and Marguerite were members of the Ticonderoga Surviving Veterans Association. Together they attended the yearly meeting and reunions. After Jack’s death Marguerite continued to stay active in the organization by writing letters and communications. Marguerite is survived by two loving children: Dennis R. (Nancy) White of Port Huron, MI and Marigail K. (Louis) Stubleski of Monroe, ten cherished grandchildren: Kim Koester, Kevin White, Michael, Mark, David, and John Neal, Kyle and Aaron Stubleski, Shannon Baker and Kelli Collier, 21 treasured great grandchildren, and one brother Lamont (Pat) Miller. In addition to her parents and husband, Marguerite was preceded in death by a grandson Jeffrey Scott White, a brother Ferris Miller Jr. and a sister Florabelle Sortor. Visitation will be held on Friday from 3-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd. in Monroe. On Saturday, August 25, 2012 she will lie in state at Calvary United Methodist Church from 10:00 AM until funeral services celebrating her life at 11:00 AM. The Rev. William Kreichbaum, pastor of the Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Rath Cemetery in Raisinville Township. Memorial contributions are suggested to Calvary United Methodist Church or Heartland Hospice.
