Larry G. Shinevarre

Larry G. Shinevarre, 64 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at St. John Hospital Macomb Center in Warren, Michigan. Born June 8, 1950 in Monroe, Larry was the son of the late John H. and Ethel Rose (Gillenkirk) Shinevarre. Larry attended Monroe High School and knowing the importance of an education went back to school and received his G.E.D. He went on to attend Monroe County Community College. On January 24, 1970 Larry married his beloved wife the former, Judy A. O'Dell, at her parents' home in Monroe. Larry was employed for Jefferson Smurfit in Monroe for 27 years. He then went to work for Chrysler, working at the Warren Truck Plant, for the past 17 years as a journeyman electrician. He received numerous certificates for his advanced training in his field of work. He enjoyed hunting, repairing cars, playing bingo and tinkering with "things" in his garage. Larry will be remembered as a hard working man and a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was always there to help anyone in need. One of his greatest joys was watching his boys and grandchildren play sports. He was known as "Papaw" to his grandchildren and their friends. Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years: Judy, two loving son's: Lawrence Edmond (Terri) Shinevarre of Monroe and Joey Lee (Teri) Shinevarre of LaSalle, three cherished grandchildren: Edmond G., Bradley A. and Nicholas L., three cherished step grandchildren: Joshua, Meaghan, and A.J., a brother: Robert (Shirley) Shinevarre of Corbin, KY, a sister: Bonnie Neil of Monroe, and two sisters in law: Brenda Shinevarre of Southgate, MI and Josephine Shinevarre of Monroe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: David "Bug" and Frank Shinevarre and a sister" Mary Lou Miller. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI, 48161 where funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Monday, September 29, 2014 at 11:00 AM. The Rev.'s Alfred Whittaker and Gary Pickrell will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
