Franklin Edward Vore

Franklin Edward Vore, age 75, a lifetime resident of Monroe, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at MagnumCare of Monroe, while surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 5, 1941 in Monroe to Herman Frederic and Arline (Sachs) Vore. He was a 1959 graduate of Monroe High School, and went on to serve as a paratrooper in the US Army in the 101st Airborne Division. On February 18, 1967 he married Carolyn Mae Hartwig in Utica, MI, and she survives. Frank was a lifelong farmer and very active in 4H, was a member of the Junior Livestock Association (JLA), served at the Beef Barn Superintendant for 32 years at the Monroe County Fair, president of the Monroe County Corn Growers for 8 years, and president of the Michigan Corn Growers for 2 years. He was a member of the Farm Bureau, and also a lifetime member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, and operated the 1st Corn Maze in Michigan. He was also involved in Livestock Trucking for Monroe County Farmers and the owner/operator of Rent-A-Tent. He enjoyed being a part of AG in the Classroom, a program to present to kids information about farming. Mostly he will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and will surely be missed by all those who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife Carolyn; children, Randy (Kristie) Vore of Monroe, Dawn (Ron) Oley of Monroe, Rusty (Tammy) Vore of Maybee, and Tina (Jake) Lambrix of Carleton; grandchildren, Kayla, Cody, Emily, Kyle, Erin, Dawson, Madison, Mackenzie, and Nicole; and siblings, Barbara Taylor of Carleton, Joel (Ruth) Vore of Monroe, and Jackie (Siebert) Meadows of Deerfield. Sadly his parents, a sister, Madeline Vore, and three brothers, Rodney, Fritz, and Doug Vore, all preceded him in death. Friends are invited to call at his memorial visitation at the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 South Telegraph Road, on Saturday from 4-7 PM and Sunday 1-7 PM. His memorial service will be held on Monday, June 27 at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church at 11 AM. The family will greet friends from 10-11 AM. Rev. Daniel Potts, pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate, and inurnment will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery.
