Everett Loop

Everett Loop, 79 years, of Monroe, MI went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 30, 2011. Everett passed away unexpectedly at Mercy Memorial Nursing Care Center in Monroe. Born April 21, 1932 in Monroe, MI, Everett was the son of the late Everett and Maggie (Carroll) Loop. Everett was a 1950 graduate of Monroe High School. Everett served his country honorably and proudly, during the Korean War as a cryptographer in the US Air Force from 1950 to 1954. Everett was stationed in Casablanca, Morocco in northern Africa. As a cryptographer Everett was given a high security clearance and was involved in many communications between President Eisenhower and Nikita Khrushchev. On October 8, 1955 Everett married his beloved wife the former Faye Heath at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Monroe. They were the last couple to wed in the old stone church. Everett was employed as a sales agent and manager for the Prudential Life Company in both Monroe and in Tustin, CA. He worked for Prudential for 25 years until his retirement in August of 1987. Everett was a member of Redeemer Fellowship Church in Monroe where he was an usher and served on the finance committee. Everett enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions and the University of Michigan football games. His favorite thing to do was watch his grandson Zachary Loop play football for SMCC. Everett is survived by his beloved wife of almost 56 years; Faye, 2 sons; Greg F. (Lisa) Loop of Monroe and Jeffrey S. Loop of Costa Mesa, CA. his cherished grandson Zachary, a brother; Clifford Loop of Monroe and a sister Bea Cantrell of Knoxville, TN. In addition to his parents Everett was preceded in death by a brother Jim Loop. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd. in Monroe. On Monday, October 3, 2011 he will lie instate at Redeemer Fellowship Church from 10:00 AM until funeral services celebrating his life at 11:00 AM. The Rev. John Piippo and the Rev. Joseph Atkinson will officiate. Following funeral services the VFW Post 1138 will conduct military honors at the church. Cremation will follow. Memorial contributions are suggested to Redeemer Fellowship Church.
