Diane Crossman

Diane L. Crossman, 65 years, of South Rockwood, MI went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 4:25 AM in her home surrounded by her loving family. Born November 23, 1945 in Monroe, MI, Diane was the daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Hammer) LaPrad. Diane attended St. Mary’s Grade School and was a 1964 graduate of St. Mary’s Academy in Monroe. On June 16, 1967 in Monroe, Diane married her beloved husband Douglas H. Crossman. A wonderful homemaker, Diane also worked as a cashier at Meijer in Woodhaven, MI for 8 years. A member of the First Presbyterian Church in Trenton and a former member of Northridge Church in Plymouth, Diane enjoyed gardening, painting, RV Camping, traveling, boating, and most of all her children and family. Diane is survived by her beloved husband of 44 years, Doug; 3 loving children; Michael D. Crossman of Warren, MI, John C. (Nichole) Crossman of Rockwood, MI and Holly K. (Dan) Kramer of Kissimmee, FL, 8 cherished grandchildren; Nathan, Lauren, Alanna, Olivia, Joshua, Connie, Emma, and Aiden, 9 siblings; Chuck (Arlene) LaPrad of Monroe, Marvin (Sharon) LaPrad of Monroe, Art (Martha) LaPrad of Flat Rock, David (Rose) LaPrad of Hixon, TN, Paul (Joyce) LaPrad of Monroe, Hildy McLaughlin of Newport, Boots Barlow of Monroe, Janice Beaudry of Grand Rapids, and Barb (Bill) Jennings of Monroe and her mother in law; Marie C. Crossman of Monroe. In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by 2 sisters; Cindy Bye and Alice Bergmooser, and 1 brother; Gary LaPrad. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2011 from 1-8 PM at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home in Flat Rock, MI. On Monday, July 25, 2011 she will lie in state at the First Presbyterian Church in Trenton, MI from 10:00 until funeral services celebrating her life at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Dr. C. Duane Armistead will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Wycliffe Associates Daniel Kramer Account # M08739. The Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., in Monroe (734) 241-4600 is assisting Diane’s family with funeral arrangements.
