Clemmyestene Morrow

Clemmyestene “Stene” Morrow, 60, of Toledo, formerly of Monroe, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, January 19, 2008. She was born May 15, 1947, in Memphis, TN to the late Henry “Lonesome” and Permetra “Ma Dear” (Smith) Boswell. She married John T. Morrow on February 14, 1965 in Memphis, TN, to which two children were born to this union. The family moved to Monroe in 1970. Stene, a former librarian for the Monroe County Library System, also retired from Ford Motor Company, Milan Plant, in 1983. She exemplified her genuine love and affection for her husband of 42 years and family with awesome meals and biblical council. She totally depended upon the Word of God in everything. One of her favorite scriptures was Psalm 46:1, where it says; God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Also, she had special love for her pastor. She restated her membership in 1997 at Second Missionary Baptist Church, Monroe under Pastor Curry’s leadership, and in 2004 she joined the New Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church, Detroit, under Pastor Carl J. Curry, where she served faithfully on the Mother’s Board, Pastor’s Aid, and Kitchen Committees, faithfully until the Lord called her out of time over into eternity. She touched the lives of many who knew and loved her and was willing to help anyone in their time of need. Stene leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband, John, of 42 years, her loving children, Darrell T. of Monroe and Tawonia L. of Toledo, stepdaughters, Sandra Crawford of Norfolk, VA and Tonia Taylor of Memphis, TN, 2 sisters, Sandra (Ray) Braxton of Toledo and Wanda Thompson of Monroe, 2 brothers, Milton (Dorothy) Lewis of Oakland, TN and Clifford (Rosalind) Boswell of Monroe, seven grandchildren, and many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Sadly, her parents, 2 brothers, Cottrell and Charles Boswell, sister, Amerea Edwards, and niece, Kimberly Austin all preceded her in death. Visitation for Stene will be held on Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the Bacarella Funeral Home, Monroe, where services will be at 12 Noon on Thursday. The Rev. Carl J. Curry will officiate. She will be taken to Owens Funeral Home, Memphis, TN for services. Burial will follow at Bell Grove Cemetery, Oakland, TN.
