Carolyn Mae Vore, age 80, of Monroe, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Flower Hospital, Sylvania, OH.
Carolyn was born September 30, 1944 in Utica, MI, she was the daughter of Edgar and Catherine (Michalski) Hartwig. She married Franklin Edward Vore February 18, 1967 in Utica; he preceded her in death June 22, 2016.
Before her marriage, Carolyn worked at Franklin Mortgage for 6 years. After her marriage she and her husband owned and ran Vore Farms. At one time, she also owned and operated Sisters Scrapbooking in Monroe.
She was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church and their altar guild.
Carolyn was active with Monroe County 4-H serving as the leader of Barndusters 4-H Group and as the 4-H beef clerk at the Monroe County Fair.
After retirement she and Frank enjoyed spending the winter months in Winterhaven, FL.
Carolyn's was happiest spending time with her family and going to her grandchildren's events.
She is survived by her four children, Randy Vore, Dawn Oley, Rusty (Tammy) Vore and Tina (Jake) Lambrix; a brother, Calvin (Ermalee) Hartwig; nine grandchildren, Kayla (Ben), Cody, Kyle, Emily (Curtis), Erin (Justyn), Dawson (Clare), Madison, Mackenzie and Nicole; two great grandchildren, Bentley and Vivia.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Paulette Mazur and Shirley Jantzen.
Memorial visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2025 at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe. She will lie instate at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church with the memorial service at 11 a.m. Rev. D. Lee Cullen, Jr., pastor of the church, will officiate. Private interment will take place at Gethsemane Cemetery at a later date.
