Victor Tyrone Carroll Sr.

February 14, 1957 - May 5, 2014

Victor Tyrone Carroll, Sr., 57 years, Newport, Michigan passed away suddenly on Monday, May 5, 2014.
Born February 14, 1957 in Monroe, Vic was the son of the late Emmitt E. and Bobbie Ruth (Burchett) Carroll. Vic attended Monroe Public Schools and Monroe High School.
On August 2, 1980 Vic married the love of his life, the former Caroline J. Pietszak at Monroe Missionary Baptist Church.
Vic retired from Ford Motor Company's Wayne Assembly Plant where he worked for 30 years.
Vic was an incredible musician and played lead guitar in his band Armed N Dangerous for over 25 years. He also sang and played numerous other instruments as well as lead guitar. Vic enjoyed all types of outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, camping with his 5th wheel, boating, surfing, snowmobiling and playing horseshoes. Vic was an avid car collector, and finally achieved his dream of owning a "57" Chevy. Vic also spent many hours riding his Harley. More than anything Vic loved being with family.
Vic is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Caroline, two loving children: Misty M. (Brian) Willard and Victor Tyrone (Jenny) Carroll, Jr. both of Newport, eight cherished grandchildren: Kyle, Nolan, Carter, McKenzie, Courtney, Carter, Victor Tyrone "TJ" "Papa's Big Chief", III, and Shane, a brother: Emmitt A. (Aimee) Carroll of Monroe, and three sisters: Imelda P. (William) Call of Newport, Deanna "Dee" S. (Randy) Larsh of Flat Rock, and Jennifer "Ginger" (Larry) Hensley of Monroe.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5-8 PM and Thursday from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI 48161 where funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Louie Barnett, pastor of Eagle's Nest Community Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Tribute Wall

Some of my fondest early childhood memories of warm summer nights are of falling asleep to listening Vic and the band playing next door. Vic was always so talented, and you could really catch his love of music. Jeanette, Anna and I were very sorry to hear about your loss. Our heavy hearts in South Carolina , as god has taken another angel to heaven. I have so many memories of Vic playing his guitar and singing in our garage. Then, There's the trip to SC to visit my brother in law jimmy . Tons and tons of wonderful memories. Vic was the reason I loved 80's hair bands.. I have memories as far back as elementary school of him playing his guitar. I'll miss waving at him as I'm pulling into the beach. He always had a smile on his face no matter what. Caroline, Misty and Ty I send my deepest condolences. I can guarantee that two of the first angels he came across welcomed him home properly.. RIP dear Vic.

Most of my memories of Vic are from long ago when I was part of the Pietszak family. We have reconnected now and then thru out the years and I have always had a place in my heart for both him and Caroline. He will be missed by so many .......family and friends alike. He was one of the good guys............My heart goes out to you, Caroline, may God bless you and your family with the strength to get thru these trying times.

After an apartment fire which claimed the life of my 2 year old niece Andrea and caused the brain death of my sister, Robin, Vic, with the help of Armed and Dangerous created a jam session benefit at Pinky's to help us pay for the funeral and re-outfit Nikki and Jacob with clothing, dishes, toys, etc. The generosity and kindness of Vic and all who participated helped to make this awful time in our lives a little easier to bare. Vic went far beyond what most people would do at a time like this. He donated his time, money and energy to help ease another's pain and loss, without a second thought as that was just the kind of man he was.Long live your memory in all of us who loved you and will miss you forever. Vic is now forever ROCKING IN PARADISE, keep on rocking, Joy.

Vic was my friend, I've known him and Caroline since we were all teenagers. Over the years we had lost touch, but we reconnected last year and Vic was as warm and friendly to me (though we hadn't seen each other in about 30 years) as he was when we saw each other everyday. I'll miss him.
