Vickie Marie Mansfield-Bausman

Vickie Marie Burke Mansfield-Bausman, 56 of Monroe, MI, passed away suddenly, and went into the loving arms of Jesus at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 2:35 pm surrounded by her loving family. Born September 13, 1957 in Monroe, Michigan, Vickie was the daughter of J.C. and Bobbie (Gilbert) Burke of Monroe, Michigan. A 1976 graduate of Monroe High School, she was a member of the Synchronized Swim Team, the girls competitive swim team, and DECCA. She also was a graduate of Monroe County Community College, where she received an Associate degree in Advertising in 1978, and was a member of MCCC DECCA. Vickie became a born-again Christian on Friday, June 16, 1967 during Vacation Bible School, and was baptized by Rev. E. E. Patterson at Monroe Missionary Baptist Church. She later became a charter member of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church of Monroe, Michigan, where she taught Sunday School and VBS, and was a member of the church choir. Currently, she is a member of Lakeside Missionary Baptist Church of Newport, Michigan. On January 30, 2006 Vickie married Kirt Bausman in Jamaica. Vickie was a wonderful wife and mother. She loved her church, her Bible study group, cooking, baking, making jewelry, crocheting, Michigan football, and spending time with family and friends. Vickie retired from Ford Motor Company, Monroe Stamping Plant as a Quality Control Inspector. After her retirement she was active in Relay for Life of Monroe County, and especially her involvement concerning Breast Cancer Awareness. Surviving are her loving parents, J.C. and Bobbie Burke, her loving husband, Kirt Bausman, sons, Daniel and Brent, stepchildren, Christopher, Tesha, and Thomas, brother, Todd (Kim) Burke of Oregon, Ohio, sister, Crystal (Tim) Kelley of Monroe, Michigan, niece, Jenna Burke of Newport, nephews, Kyle Burke of Newport, Aaron LaFountain of Monroe, Jacob Kelley of Monroe, Dusty Lee of Oregon, Ohio. She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents J.V. and Dora (Lingar) Burke, maternal grandparents Frank and Nola (Williams) Gilbert, and a host of uncles and aunts. Family and friends may call at the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Road, Monroe, Michigan 48161, on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from 1-8 pm. The funeral will be on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at the funeral home with services at 11 am. The Rev. Larry Head and Rev. Tony Massingill, both of Lakeside Missionary Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Relay for Life of Monroe County (American Cancer Society).
