Robert W. Wohlgamuth, 68 years, of Monroe, Michigan passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Mercy Memorial Hospital.
Born September 11, 1945 in Toledo, OH, Bob was the son of the late Harold G. and Roberta M. (Reddick) Wohlgamuth. A 1965 graduate of Summerfield High School, Bob went on to receive his bachelor's degree in both accounting and psychology at Michigan State University.
On March 19, 1966 Bob married his beloved wife the former Sandra Lynn Phillips in Petersburg, Michigan.
A certified public accountant, Bob's first employer was Arthur Young and Company (now Ernst & Young). He was a partner at Cooley, Hehl, Wohlgamuth & Carlton in Monroe where he began working in 1972. He recently retired.
Bob was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants. Bob was a member of the Monroe Exchange Club, where he served as President in 1990-1991. He participated in the Goodfellow Paper Sale, a collaboration between the Knights of Columbus and the Exchange Club. He also served as past president and officer of the Monroe All Sports Club. Bob enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, and all MSU sports. More than anything he loved family, especially time spent with his grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Sandy, four loving children: Kyle W. (Jenny) Wohlgamuth of Monroe, Scott A. (his fiancé Dawn Eby) Wohlgamuth of Augusta, GA, Kimberly A. (Graham) Britain of Wolverine Lake, MI, and Connie S. Wohlgamuth of Monroe, seven cherished grandchildren: Drake, Dawson, Morgan, Amanda, Ryan, Brandi, and Tristan and two treasured great grandchildren: Noah and Adalynn. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a brother William R. Wohlgamuth.
In accordance with his wishes cremation will be held. Bob's family will greet friends on Friday from 3-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI where a memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 1:00 PM, The Rev. Roy Southerland, will officiate. Private interment will be held at Pleasantview Cemetery in Summerfield Township.
