Robert V. "Bullet Bob" Russeau, Sr.

Robert V. Russeau, “Bullet Bob” of Monroe, Michigan went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 2, 2018, at the home of his daughter and son in law, Donna J. and Dr. Randal Kaufman of San Diego California. Born February 5, 1939 in Monroe, son of the late Virgil R. Russeau & Marguerite Goslin. Bob attended The Hall of Divine Child and Monroe Catholic Central High School. In his younger days he assisted in caring for the Gardens at both the Hall of Divine Child and the IHM Mother House. Bob excelled in sports, especially football, hockey and track and while at Catholic Central he played football for the legendary Coach Jack Castignola, who gave Bob his nickname “Bullet Bob.” Bob married the love of his life, Donna J. Price, on February 2, 1957 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Monroe. He began his career in car sales at Ed Harwood Buick Pontiac, were he became Sales Manager before opening his own business, Bob Russeau’s Motor Sales, from which he retired. Bob was a member of Saint John’s the Baptist Catholic Church and a member of the Monroe Golf and Country Club. Bob always had a smile on his face and a cigar in hand and a zest for life. He loved people and helping others. Bob had a big heart & he was very giving and loved helping those in need. Most of all Bob enjoyed spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Bullet Bob Russeau is survived by five loving children: Loree R. Russeau of Monroe, Janene M. Russeau of Denver, CO, Lisa D. Sancrainte of Monroe Mi, Dr. Randal & Donna J. “Bubba” Kaufman of San Diego, CA, and Mr. Robert V. Russeau, Jr. & wife Sara of Gregory, Mi. Bob had nine cherished grandchildren: Robert G. Johnson, Ian T. & wife Morgan Sancrainte, Paige C. Duffey, Jase R. Sancrainte, Jake M. Duffey, Marissa J. Sancrainte, Alec R. Duffey, Brock A. Sancrainte, and Maverick Lee Kaufman. He has three sisters, Beatrice of Monroe, Mi. Nancy & husband Gordon Deaton, Monroe Mi. Doris Dines of Toledo, OH. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews that he cherished. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his four brothers: Roger, James Arthur, John Lee “Jack” and Ronald Russeau. Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018 12pm-8pm in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI, 48161. On Saturday, February 17, 2018 a Memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Monroe. Fr. Raymond Arwady, pastor of the church, will officiate. Private interment services will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery in Monroe.
