Karen Marie Daniel

Karen Marie Daniel (December 10, 1953 - January 22, 2022) “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened” – Dr. Seuss. Born on December 10, 1953, to Earl and Joyce Krell and raised with her siblings in Riverview, Michigan. During high school, she met the love of her life, Anthony Daniel, whom she married on December 22, 1972. Karen earned her education degree from Eastern Michigan University and dedicated herself to inspiring countless students during her career. Her patience, positivity, and deep concern for her students shaped the invaluable impact she made as an educator. Karen approached life with boundless energy and an unfaltering belief in the goodness of others. She became an avid crocheter and made hundreds of hats and other items to donate to children in hospitals, schools, and her beloved grandchildren. She loved to travel and had a passion for reading to her children, students, and grandbabies. She loved being active with bowling, exercise classes, and walking with friends. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Karen instantly felt welcomed and cared for in her presence. She truly wanted the best for everyone and became a mother figure to many. Above all, she loved her family. Her sweet nature, respect, and kindness radiate from each of them, a gift they carry through their lives. She is survived by her best friend and husband, Tony; her sons, Aaron (Cara), Richard, and Matthew (Nicole); and her grandchildren - her “Magnificent Seven” - her next generation prides and joy: Taylor, Quinn, Emory, Sydney, Graham, Anthony, and Avelyn. She is also survived by her siblings, Pam (Rick), Denise (Tim), Earl (Margaret), and numerous nieces and nephews and other close relatives. Her parents preceded her in death. A Memorial Mass to celebrate Karen’s life will be held at St. John Catholic Church on Saturday, Jan. 29th at 11 a.m.. The family will receive visitors beginning at 10 a.m. Rev. Fr. Alan Zobler, OSFS, will officiate with Deacon Michael Stewart assisting. The family asks that only individuals vaccinated against COVID attend and masks be worn at all times.
