   Benita Rothwell Feldman, 95 years, of Monroe, MI passed away on Friday, December 16, 2011 at The Lutheran Home in Monroe.

   Born April 13, 1916 in New York, NY, Benita was the daughter of the late Clarence and Benita (Buckel) Rothwell. Benita was a 1935 graduate of Bay Shore High School, Long Island, NY.

   On June 11, 1945, Benita married her beloved husband Dr. George J. Feldman in New York, NY. They moved to Monroe in that same year.  Sadly, he preceded her in death on July 3, 2004 after 59 years of marriage.

   Benita was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Monroe, where she served on the Vestry and was a member of the Episcopal Church Women. Other memberships included Friends In Council, Thrift Shop Association of Monroe, The Sawyer Homestead, and the Monroe Golf and Country Club. Benita enjoyed golf, tennis and horseback riding.

  Benita will be remembered as a very loving wife and mother.

  She is survived by her son and daughter in law: Dr. Edward R. and Karen Feldman of Monroe, 2 cherished grandchildren: Dr. Heather (Ray) Figueira of Stevens Point, WI, and Jeremy (Rebecca) Molenda of Monroe, and 2 treasured great grand children: Cailin and Grady Molenda. In addition to her husband and parents, Benita was preceded by 3 siblings: Colonel Franklin G. Rothwell, Mrs. Marjorie Rothwell Meyer and Professor Kenneth S. Rothwell.

   Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., in Monroe where funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 11:00 AM. The Rev. John Schinkel, Chaplain of the Lutheran Home, will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

   Memorial contributions are suggested to the Humane Society of Monroe County.
