Allene H. Lechy, 85 years, of Monroe, MI, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Monroe.

   Born March 14, 1926 in Ida, MI, Allene was the daughter of the late Albert and Helen (Stowell) Weilnau. Allene grew up in Ida and was a 1944 graduate of Ida High School.

   On June 19, 1945 at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Raisinville Township, Allene married her beloved husband George A. Lechy Jr. Sadly he preceded her in death on November 28, 2006 after 61 years of marriage.

   Allene worked as a department manager for Federal’s Department Store in Monroe for 15 years.  Although Allene worked outside the home she was also a wonderful homemaker.

   Allene was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid Society, The Monroe County Rod and Gun Club, where she served as president of its Ladies Auxiliary, Monroe Senior Citizens, and was a retired member of Local 14 Senior Citizens in Toledo. Allene enjoyed ceramics and needle work. Most of all Allene enjoyed family.

  Allene is survived by 2 Loving children: George A. (Joyce) Lechy of Monroe, Kathleen S. Beaudrie of South Rockwood, 5 cherished grandchildren: James Beaudrie, Elizabeth (Gerald) Lovett, Paul Beaudrie, Christopher Lechy, Chad (Beth) Lechy and 9 treasured great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband George, Allene was preceded in death by her sister: Marjorie Ihrig and her son in law: Thomas Beaudrie.

   Visitation will be held on Friday from 3-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., in Monroe. On Saturday, December 17, 2011 she will lie in state at Zion Lutheran Church from 1:00 PM until funeral services celebrating her life at 2:00 PM. The Rev.’s Gary Tryggestad and Ross Ulrich pastor’s of the church will officiate. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
