Charlotte Williams, 70 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe, MI went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at 7:28 PM in Tendercare of Monroe.
Charlotte was born February 10, 1940 in Monroe, MI the daughter of the late Otto and Tennie (Thompson) Freeman. Charlotte attended Monroe Public Schools and later worked as a Librarian for Monroe High School. Charlotte married her beloved husband Arthur L. Williams in Toledo, OH. Sadly he preceded her in death on February 22, 2005. Charlotte also worked at Kmart and other retail outlets in Monroe and as a teacher’s aide at Lincoln School. Charlotte was a member of Christ Love Fellowship Church in Monroe where she played the piano, was an evangelist and helped those in need of spiritual guidance with the churches Jail Ministry.
Charlotte will be best remembered as a wonderful homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved God and her family with all her heart.
Charlotte is survived by 6 loving Children; Arthur L. (Lillian) Williams Jr., of Savannah, GA, Mary A. Goodloe of Monroe, Joy O. (Eric) Rocker of Toledo, OH, Tennie L. (Mark) Harris of Fayetteville, NC, Danita G. Williams of Monroe and Beth A. (David) Campbell of Monroe, 14 cherished grandchildren and 10 treasured great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents Charlotte was preceded in death by her grandson Clarence Goodloe, 1 brother; Andrew W. Freeman a 1 sister Eva C. Henderson.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 23, 2010 in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., in Monroe, from 11:00 AM until funeral services celebrating her life at 1:00 PM. The Rev. Alfred Overstreet of Al Overstreet Evangelistic Ministry will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Memorial Hospice of Monroe.
