Jacqueline H. Pless, 71 years, of Erie, MI, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at 1:03 in the morning in her home. Jackie had been in declining health for sometime.

Jackie was born November 2, 1938 in Waverly, OH the daughter of George and Ida Maxine (Richardson) Downing. Jackie was a 1956 graduate of Hilliard High School in Hilliard, OH. On June 13, 1959 in Columbus, OH Jackie married her beloved husband James Larry Pless. Sadly he preceded her in death on April 12, 1991. In 1971 the couple moved to Monroe. Jackie worked as an assistant manager for 7 years at the Sunoco Gas Station and as a cook at various restaurants in Monroe. She retired in 2003.

Jackie is survived by 3 loving children; Christina Lee and Mark Hopings of Monroe, MI and their children; Marcus, Daniel, Dione, and James, James Daniel Pless of Toledo, OH, and his children; Ashlee, Holly and Katie, and Cynthia Lynn Kleparek of Erie, MI and her children; Candis, Marcus and Robby and 7 cherished great grandchildren, 3 brothers; Harold (Eleanor) Downing of Phoenix, AZ, Fred (Ruth) Downing of Washington Courthouse, OH, Nick (Freda) Downing of Chillicothe, OH and 1 sister; Cheryl (Jerry) Beard of Fontana, CA. and a host of nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Jackie’s wishes cremation will be held. On Monday, August 23, 2010 friends and family will gather at the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd. in Monroe from 1:00 PM until a Memorial Service celebrating her life at 3:00 PM. The Rev. James Jacobs, Chaplain at Mercy Memorial Hospital will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure Foundation.
