Mark M. Dusich Sr. 89, 0f Monroe, passed away at home on Monday, August 2, 2010. He had been in poor health for about a year.

He was born July 20, 1921 in Gary, IN, the son of Marco and Mary (Budavinca) Dusich. He proudly served his country in the Army in WWII in the 101st Airborne Division as a combat Medic.

On May 27, 1947 he married Almeda M. Hilton in Gary, IN. Sadly, she preceded him in death July 19, 2000.

Mark was employed by US Steel in Gary, IN for 40 years. Shortly after his retirement in 1981 they moved to Monroe to be closer to their family. They attended Trinity Lutheran Church and raised eleven foster children together. He was known as an excellent mechanic and enjoyed overhauling vehicles. He was always there to help other people and will be missed very much by all who knew and loved him.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a son, Mark (Christine) Dusich Jr. of Temperance, a daughter, Deborah (Bill) Fosnaugh of Monroe, 4 grandchildren, Eddie Fosnaugh, Lynda Slatter, Sharlene Rowland, and Kerrie Vinson. 6 great grandchildren, and a brother, Jerry (Sophie) Dusich of Indiana.

By his request, cremation has taken place. A service will be held at a later date in Indiana and following that he will be interred with his wife. The Bacarella Funeral Home, Monroe was privileged to assist the family with arrangements.

Memorial gifts in his name may be given to the Salvation Army.
