Betty S. Archer, 72 years, of LaSalle, MI went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 1:15 PM. Betty passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Betty was born August 24, 1938 in Tazewell, TN the daughter of the late Bern and Lucy (Jennings) Mason. Betty was a 1956 graduate of Claiborne County High School in TN.
On April 20, 1967 in Morristown, TN Betty married her beloved husband Phillip M. “Mike” Archer. Sadly Mike passed away on February 8, 2006.
In 1969 Betty and Mike moved to Monroe to raise their family. Betty worked at Ford Motor Company in Monroe from which she retired in 1997. Betty was a member of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church and attended Liberty Missionary Baptist Church. Betty enjoyed traveling.
Above all Betty was a homemaker and enjoyed being a mom and a grandmother. Betty is survived by 3 loving children; David M. (Josephine) Archer of Monroe, Lisa M. (Cesare) Gaglio of LaSalle and Jennifer E. (Alan) DeBruyne of Dundee, 5 cherished grandchildren; F. Michael and Christina Gaglio, Sofia and Stella Archer, and Lillian DeBruyne, 2 brothers; Boyd Mason on Monroe and Owen (Dorothy) Mason of Lafayette, IN, and 1 sister Eva Jane (John) Chittum of Monroe. In addition to her beloved husband of 38 years, Mike, and her parents, Betty was preceded in death by 3 sisters; Ruth Lynch, Peggy Dotson and Billie Jean Robinson, and 2 brothers; Bern Mason Jr. and Robert Mason.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 1-9 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., in Monroe where funeral services celebrating Betty’s life will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Bob Baltrip pastor of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow at LaSalle Township Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
