Mary R. Paul, 71 years, of Monroe, MI went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 15, 2010. Mary passed away at the Mercy Memorial Nursing Care Center.
Mary was born May 30, 1939 in Corbin, KY the daughter of the late Rev. Sam and Mahalie (Brown) Martin. On March 3, 1954 in Jellico, TN Mary married her beloved husband Walter William (Bill) Paul Sr. Sadly he passed away on July 23, 1993.
A wonderful homemaker, Mary was a former member of LaSalle Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed Karaoke and bingo. Most of all Mary enjoyed her family.
Mary is survived by 5 loving children; James W. (Jody) Paul, Kenneth R. Paul, Arthur Lee Paul, Terry F. Paul and Sherrie L. Paul all of Monroe, 17 cherished grandchildren, 24 treasured great grandchildren, 3 brothers; John Martin of Virginia, N.A. (Theresa) Martin of Dearborn, MI, and Edward Ray Mattingly of Newport, MI, 1 sister Edna R. Martin Prater of Hamilton, OH and 1 sister in law Dorothy Martin of Fairfield, OH. In addition to her husband and parents Mary was preceded in death by her step father Tom Mattingly, her son Walter William Paul Jr. in 1991, 3 brothers; Bob Martin, Flem Martin, and Thomas Mattingly 2 sisters; Dixie Martin Smith, Goldie Martin Jones, and a granddaughter Nicole Paul.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., in Monroe where funeral services celebrating Mary’s life will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 11:00 am. Private interment will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Mercy Memorial Hospice of Monroe
