Laura E. (“Peggy”) Robinson, 91 years, of Monroe, MI went home to be with her Lord on Sunday evening, June 6, 2010 at Fountain View of Monroe where she had been since July of 2009.

Laura was born September 9, 1918 in Waynesfield, OH the daughter of the late Alfred and Leora (Dawson) Endsley. The family moved to Ida, MI when Laura was just a child. She attended Ida Public Schools and was a 1936 graduate of Ida High School.

On November 22, 1936 in Pontiac, MI Laura married her beloved husband John Marion Robinson. Sadly he preceded her in death on July 26, 1980.

Along with her husband Laura owned and operated Suburb Lumber and Building Supply Company just south of Monroe from 1948 to 1974. Laura was also a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed caring for her family. She also helped teach reading in the Monroe Public School system for many years.

Laura was a member of Redeemer Fellowship Church in Monroe and assisted with the church’s bookkeeping.

Laura enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, tending to her fruit trees and canning. An avid rock collector, Laura enjoyed polishing and making jewelry from the various types of rocks she collected. Laura and her late husband built a cabin together in northern Ontario. Laura had many fond memories of her time spent up north. She so enjoyed hunting for morel mushrooms and trout fishing. Most of all Laura loved her God and her family.

Laura is survived by 3 loving sons; M. John (Sonja) Robinson of Leawood, KS, Richard A. (Raili) Robinson of Oxford, OH, and Michael D. (JoAnne E.) Robinson of Royal Oak, MI, 6 cherished grandchildren, 5 treasured great grandchildren and several beloved nieces and nephews. Barbara Wolfenbarger, niece, was with her when she went to be with our Lord. In addition to her husband and parents, Laura was preceded in death by her sister Lois.

In keeping with Laura’s wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 9:30 AM at Redeemer Fellowship Church, 5305 Evergreen Dr, Monroe. The Rev. John Piippo, pastor, will officiate. Memorial contributions are suggested to Redeemer Fellowship Church. The Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. #8 Julie 2010-06-13 08:59 Grandma…
No doubt you're with Grandpa now, on some beautiful lake in the sky, fishing for trout. I'll never forget the blueberry picking, the morel hunting, fried fish lunches, and the two of you playing cards together. Luvu lots!

#10 G.FORD 2011-11-14 05:43 I am so sorry for your loss. May "the God of all comfort" (2 Corinthians 1:3,4) comfort and soothe your heart. His promises, found in the Holy Scriptures, can offer much hope. It assures us at John 5:28,29 that our loved ones will be remembered and brought back to life in the resurrection. Please allow God's Word to strengthen you and help you to endure this most difficult time. Quote
